There will be no other princess or pirate quite like you! Kids will create colorful patterns on their crowns, using safe, non-toxic markers that are machine washable and crowns can be re-colored if they fade a bit. What color will your crown be? Ages 4 and up.

Pop Bottle Science Workshop
Each workshop participant will receive a complete kit with a shatter-proof experiment bottle and a fully illustrated guide for completing 79 easy, hands-on experiments. The kit probes the worlds of chemistry, physics, biology, geology, weather, the human body, and even astronomy. Each experiement begins with a challenge and ends with the scientific principles involved. Experienced former science teacher Steve Cottrell will lead the class in conducting a selected group of experiments from the kit to cover a range of science topics. Ages 8 and up. Registration and a $10 material fee is required in advance.

FREE Seminar for Parents!
Pat Capps, Pastor of Children’s Ministry at Fellowship Church, Knoxville, will present a seminar on “You are your child’s favorite plaything: learning to make the most of play with your child from birth to age five.”
This interactive presentation will focus on milestones and stages of development in early childhood, as well as appropriate toys and play experiences for children during their early years. Handouts will be available.
Pat has over 30 years of experience in both children’s ministry and child care administration. Pat has a B.S. in Special Education and an M.A. in Child and Family Studies. As a lifelong resident of Knoxville, she has a passionate commitment to connecting children and parents to effective resources in the community.
There is no charge for the seminar, but space in limited and reservations in advance are required. (Light refreshments will be served.)

Smart Toys and Books Fair of Fall Activities provides a preview of ongoing classes and services offered at Smart Toys and Books. Instructors will be available to discuss their offerings and overviews of other activities will be displayed.
Some attendees include: Knoxville Zoo, Children’s Museum of Oak Ridge, Healthy Eating and Nurtrition for Families and Children, Kindermusik, Lane Music, Brix4Kids, Chick-fil-A, and more!

Book Signing-Debbie Dadey
Author Debbie Dadey will be available to sign A Royal Tea, the ninth book in her Mermaid Tales series. She will also offer a free craft, book marks and stickers during the event. Dadey is the author and co-author of 172 children’s books, which have sold over 47 million copies.
